About Tailster

Tailster launched in 2014, with a mission of taking the stress out of finding pet care. Six years on, Tailster has helped over 300,000 pet owners in the UK, with a portion of them no doubt dog owners in Hampstead.

Tailster take a 20% commission on bookings for services through their system. It’s nice that they list this upfront, with many marketplace websites these days hiding how much they take from vendors. You input the service you’d like, and carers get back to you with quotes.

For a 60 minute Hampstead dog walk during the week, I was quoted between £10 - £20. Some of the carers had a ‘popular carer’ badge, which is a nice feature and helps you whittle down the quotes you’ve got, in addition to the profile each carer has.

The only thing that leaves me a little unsure on Tailster is that it’s not specifically set up for the Hampstead area. I know that there are dog carers on the platform who specialise in Hampstead dog walking, but I like a bit more information, personally. However, what is nice is the easy online payment system. This is one of the better checkouts I’ve seen, and peace of mind when making online payments is important.

Tailster has full insurance and an emergency vet fee cover for its carers, but it doesn’t explicitly mention anything about DBS checks.

Tailster reviews

A 4.4 star review on Google* isn’t the best - although this is for their service as a whole, not necessarily the Hampstead area. As I say though, this is one of my reservations: that they don’t specialise in Hampstead specifically. However, this is just my opinion and many people will disagree that this is a sticking point.
